As a young girl exploring faith, I joined the Methodist Church, and it became my home.
I came to the UK to study Counselling and Theology and ended up assisting people with a variety of emotional and psychological issues.
I have worked as a Drugs and Alcohol facilitator with SMART in NHS, Turning Point, RAPT (The Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners Trust) with people in HMP, and those released into the Community, engaging with people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol and facilitating psychosocial intervention through peer support groups.
I entered the ministry as an accredited local preacher with the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe and was a candidate for ministry from North Camp Methodist Church, South-East District, where I was active in the church's life.
I am a Methodist Church Mediation Practitioner, certified by Scottish Mediation and Cliff College, and trained by Bridge Builders and certified in Interpersonal Conflict with College of Mediator.
I earned a master's degree in Mission with a focus on mentoring and leadership from Manchester University.
I consider myself to be a warm, approachable, empathetic, and good listener, as well as a passionate, gentle, persistent, flexible, ethical, and trustworthy individual.
I believe that spiritual gifts are received through prayer, and that a praying and worshipping church is founded on God's word.
For 19 years, I was married to Charles Chanakira, and we were fortunate to have three children, two boys and one girl. Charles was promoted to Glory in a car accident and died there. Since then, my family has grown to include three girls, three boys, and five adorable grandchildren.
