All glory, praise and thank to our Father for His unfailing love and countless blessings He bestowed upon me and still courteously blessing me with His grace and mercy. I come from a Methodist background, effectively from Penang Cantonese Methodist Church. I continued my membership with the Methodist church ever since I arrived to East London for nursing. I profoundly enjoyed nursing very much, apart from general nursing, I was also trained in midwifery, district nursing and ended my serviceable career as a clinical nurse specialist in Community Palliative Care. My nursing experience was very rewarding, enriching and humbling. Aside from nursing, I was also trained as a massage therapist and aromatherapist.
In the 90s, I served as a Chair for Newham Chinese Association for a few years. Since retirement, I was elected again to be chair for the Newham Women's Group, only for a couple of years. I did voluntary work for St Joseph's Hospice in the accounts department and as a massage therapist in a complementary clinic for a few years.
These days, I mainly focus on my voluntary work in our local church as a member of the management team, helping Thursday lunch club once a month, Chinese lunch club and the food bank. I hope to resume my travelling once Covid is more under control because till I have commitments to family in Penang. May our Lord continue to use me to serve Him and His people. Amen
